Pompidou Centre, taken around May 2010. Not sure who the curious young man is.
This iconic building, cut into a dense city market and residential quarter, was completed in 1977. I remember it was entertaining to move through the forecourt and up the escalators. The building always looks fresh. Architects: Renzo Piano, Richard Rogers and Gianfranco Franchini. Engineer Arup. The design was selected by International competition. The jury was made up of architects Oscar Niemeyer, Jean Prouvé and Philip Johnson. A substantial trio.
