The accumulation of brushes, pens, nibs, scrappers, toothbrushes and favourite implements used to draw with have been dusted off, sorted and cleaned ready for a new drawing project.
Direct pen and ink drawing on paper allows little wriggle room to keep the feeling of spontaneity in the drawn line. Serendipitous accidents may offer opportunities and creative leaps but in the end it’s walking along the edge.
