A fitting post for today, after Victorians gave the politics of fear a walloping in our State election. Victoria once again rejected fear and division. 24/11/2018.

From the archives:

Our 1972 street party held by the residents of Carroll Street,North Melbourne. A celebration of community action. Multi generational families coming  together. Older residents of the street reminisced how this coming together last happened celebrating the end of WW2.

The Geodesic dome was a fiddling and frustrating job to make and assemble ….a kind of  Rubic’s Cube of the 70s. It also represented the alternative society for change.

The poster was by me and screen printed by Midge (Mary Hemming).
