Our currawong of over several years has not returned from the wildlife carer. We are in the dark about her fate. Meanwhile the two nesting ravens have taken command of our yard. There are occasional skirmishes over the rights to perch in our “Putin” tree between one stubborn kookaburra, that is possibly not the full kooka, and the two ravens. The ravens dominate…other than the blackbirds busy scampering between the shrubs and bushes.

The new masters of the garden studiously struts through the grass, making a full circle of the yard. Will these tough birds grab our effection or will our animosity persist?

They are wonderfull looking bird. The worry is the possible expulsion of all the other smaller birds that flick and flap throughout  the garden. It is only occasionally now that a solitary currawong calls to the door, without a song.
